2 Hari belakangan ini server hosting blog saya (hostgator) mengalami CPU overload karena terlalu banyak menerima request. Spam kah?
Begitu saya cek, ternyata ada beberapa aktivitas request berlebihan yang berasal dari ip berikut:
173.194.*.* /16
74.125.*.* /16
Uniknya, setelah saya dobel cek, ternyata IP tersebut milik Google:
- http://bnet.robtex.com/173.194.html#result
- http://bnet.robtex.com/74.125.html#result
Bingung? Jelas!
Kebingungan ini bertambah parah saat melihat log trafik, ternyata user agent yang digunakan berbeda beda. omg.
Ada beberapa teori yang berkembang yang saya baca di forum google: https://productforums.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/webmasters/ORa37e4z1ss diantaranya:
1. Berasal dari project Google yang dirahasiakan
2. Google berusaha untuk membandingkan hasil crawl menggunakan google bot versus crawl menggunakan cara seolah-olah google adalah visitor nyata (real) (Panda+Penguin+Fake PR)
3. Hasil dari pencarian Google Image
4. Hasil dari translate Google (url translate)
Ironisnya, saya mendapatkan warning dari Hostgator gara2 “serangan” google ini, berikut cuplikannya:

Dilematis, antara harus banned google atau banned hosting? Belum ada solusi untuk masalah ini. Saya masih mencari cara untuk menyelesaikannya.
